Yosemite Valley (Mirror Lake) | 7.9 | 12.6 | This trail is the shortest route between the Tioga Road and Yosemite Valley, taking hikers down the Snow Creek drainage and then dropping onto a very steep trail with switchbacks to Mirror Lake. Hikers may also continue west along the north rim of Yosemite Valley toward North Dome and Yosemite Falls. |
Olmsted Point | Beginning at scenic Olmsted Point, this trail also leads hikers across rolling granite slabs into the Snow Creek drainage, Joining the Snow Creek trail after a couple of miles. | |||
White Wolf to Pate Valley | This trail gives overnight backpackers access to the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne and to the trails leading into the heart of the high country. The descent to Pate Valley is steep. | |||
Old Big Oak Flat Road | Beginning at Tamarack Creek Campground, this old road leads to the primary route to El Captain. | |||
White Wolf Campground | Day hikers using this trail can take a pleasant stroll through red fir forest to Lukens Lake open to day use only. Overnight hikers can gain access to the Yosemite Creek watershed, Grant Lakes and the Ten Lakes basin. | |||
White Wolf to Smith Meadow (Harden Lake) | This trail begins along the Old Tioga Road and then leads Hikers through red fir forest to Smith Meadow and Smith Peak. | |||
South Fork of the Tuolumne | Hikers may have difficulty finding and following this little used trail which crosses the south fork of the Tuolumne River and leads to Aspen Valley. | |||
Aspen Valley Road | This little used route is the original Tioga Road and passes forested terrain between White Wolf and Aspen Valley. |
