Each morning, you are expected to arrive to morning meeting with a daypack that has:
· at least one full 1-quart water bottle (make sure it doesn't leak)
· raingear (rain coat and pants)
· extra layers of clothes
· a journal or notebook
· a pen or pencil
· sunscreen
· sunglasses
· a wool or polar fleece hat
· enough space for lunch
· prescribed medications (let your hiking group chaperone know)
You may also want to bring a camera, a sun hat, and extra film. Remember, you will carry your daypack all day. An aching back does not make for a fun day in the field, so you might practice carrying a heavy daypack all day for a week leading up to your visit.
No walkmans, gameboys, pagers, gum or candy will be permitted in
daypacks or on the trail.
