Yosemite Institute is a field school. Your teachers have chosen this program as an extended field trip that relates to themes and concepts you are studying at school, helps develop a positive learning community for you and your classmates, introduces you to a national park of worldwide significance, and challenges you to learn about yourself.
All your classes will take place outside on the trail. You will be asked to participate fully in a number of activities, challenges, explorations and assignments we hope you will find fun and challenging, and rewarding. You will be in the field hiking each day from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Activities are linked by a theme or concept and they relate to the overall themes of YI's
Core Education Framework and the compelling interpretive stories of Yosemite National Park.
